Classless, baseless ‘debate’ that added nothing to the show
I wanted to watch a new show, which brought me to ‘High Fidelity’. The only intrigue I had was knowing Zoe Kravitz, through her famous parents Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz.
I actually enjoyed the show at first, despite the obvious copying of shows ‘Insecure’ and ‘Shes Gotta Have It’
However, it was the second episode that has completely turned me off from the show. At the beginning of this episode, a white woman comes into Kravitz’s character record store, she asks for a copy of Michael Jackson’s classic album, “Off The Wall”
Kravitz character, called ‘Rob’( weird flex but okay) at first hesitates, but then sells the record.
Then her and the other characters get into this pseudo intellectual, wannabe hipster debate on the ‘ethics’ of selling a Michael Jackson record.
The line that prompted me to write this, was where Rob states “How does it benefit society to hold Quincy’s genius hostage just because the dude who sang over his shit ended up being a full-blown child molester?”
I’d like for anyone to show me the evidence where it was proven Michael Jackson was a ‘full blown child molester.’ The Grand Jury of the Jordan Chandler case didn't seem to agree with that, neither did the 2005 jury who found Jackson not guilty on all charges.
It’s funny how Michael Jackson can be found innocent by two different juries, using the so lauded court system. Yet the narrative is he was guilty.
Kravitz’s line is dangerously ignorant and incorrect and only shows how dumbed down the general public is.
It’s clear this debate came up in the wake of 'Leaving Neverland', the mockumentary which has been debunked with numerous inconsistencies.
No one seems to question the logic of James Safechuck and Wade Robson ,that they were grown men ,well into their 20s and 30s stating they had zero clue that what they claimed happened to them was molestation.
This is until Wade Robson is rejected for the MJ one show in Las v=Vegas, suddenly both him and Safechuck, who claim to have not conspired together, conveniently ‘realize’ a grown man allegedly touching your private parts is wrong. These are men who both went on to have children by the way
Kanye West brought a lot of criticism he’s received to himself due to his affiliation with President Trump. I do not agree with him supporting Trump, however, likening his allegiance to that of someone being accused of pedophilia is an extreme reach
I don’t understand this new age logic where speaking inaccurately is considered deep conversation. The facts are there to showcase Michael Jackson’s innocence, read the documents.

Kanye West’s support of Trump is disappointing, yet it doesn’t warrant some fake debate about whether his music is ethical, being a republican is not a crime, although not advisable for a black person.
I am disappointed that Zoe Kravitz, whose father has worked with Michael Jackson and defended him ,went along with the unwarranted slander. It should be noted in this same episode, the characters are enjoying David Bowie’s music, despite the allegations he faced of sex with teenage girls.
‘High Fidelity’ is a fake woke agenda driven show, I do not approve.
